Newton Medical Center receives national recognition for cost savings

Laurie Durham and Janet Gunn with the hospital’s Materials Management staff received the bronze-level best practice award from MedAssets, a Group Purchasing Organization that helps NMC with product standardization, volume discounts and contract management.
“This award is strongly based on the proven substantial financial and operational success you achieved in working with MedAssets in 2008,” Rand Ballard, MedAssets senior executive vice-president and COO, wrote in a letter accompanying the plaque.
