Dr. Farhat is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology. He serves as medical director of the Newton Cardiovascular Lab.
Dr. Farhat performed the Newton area’s first transesophageal echo (TEE) procedure, allowing a much clearer image of a patient’s heart. He also implanted the area’s first cardioverter-defibrillator in the chest of a Newton patient threatened with sudden cardiac arrest.
Trained extensively in Florida and Texas to develop this implant procedure, Farhat is affiliated with hospitals in Wichita and Newton. He is one of the participating partners in the newly developed Newton Cardiac Services that built the area’s first catheterization lab on the Newton Medical Center campus.
