Patient Lift Equipment

Patients feel more secure — and it’s safer for the staff. Making all the difference is the new patient lift equipment that can be used in virtually every department of the hospital.

Patients can be safely lifted and transferred from various positions. For instance, a patient lying on the floor can be lifted to a bed; a patient in a sitting position on the bed can be transferred to a chair; or the lift can provide extra security and help for a patient while walking. It also allows staff to safely lift and transfer patients who must be moved from their rooms to radiology or other departments.

The lift features various belts and slings, plus an “arm” similar to a trapeze, which telescopes via a hydraulic system. It can move to a low position for a patient on the floor and raise above the head of a patient trying to walk. Handrails offer greater safety for walking patients. The rails can be moved to lift a patient.

The lift is also safer for the staff. By using the lift, one or two nurses can safely do the same job that used to require several staff members.
