Newton Medical Center’s digital mammography system provides greater patient comfort and reduced radiation exposure and enables physicians to make more-accurate diagnoses.
Mammography screening is now more comfortable for patients than traditional mammography due to a curved support and compression paddle. The digital system’s “target” X-ray produces 60 percent less scatter radiation than other mammography screening technology. The system’s high-resolution images and large field of view enable radiologists to see more detail within soft tissues, leading to more-accurate diagnoses.
Newton Medical Center is one of only several locations in the state where this state-of-the-art system is available. For information about digital mammography or if you have questions about insurance coverage, call Karen Troyer, Newton Medical Center’s off-site Imaging Services manager, at 316-283-4744.
Appointments may be made through your physician or by calling 316-283-4744.
