Newton Medical Center Clinical Laboratory serves both inpatients and outpatients with a full-range menu of routine and specialty tests 24/7. Directed by Dr. Joe Lin, pathologist, and Robetta Trapp, MS (Health Systems), CLS (ASCP), the lab isstaffed by 21 technical personnel and nine support team members and has state-of-the-art analyzers that protect every aspect of the testing process. Our friendly staff is eager to provide you with fast, secure, accurate testing while supporting your physician or provider in diagnosis and treatment decisions and providing technical and clinical information.
The Clinical Laboratory offers transfusion services for those needing blood or blood component therapy. A paperless, automated system assures positive patient identification throughout the process for maximum patient safety.
We also provide employer drug screens, including Department of Transportation collections, neonatal and pediatric testing and electrocardiography services. Individual collection stations provide privacy for each patient. Accredited by The Joint Commission, the lab meets state and federal regulatory requirements and is designed to apply Lean Theory, plus continuous quality improvement processes.
