Stephen D. Cranston, MD
MD Board Certified in General Surgery General Surgery and Robotic Surgery
Dr. Cranston has practiced in the community since 1977. During that time, he has been affiliated with Axtell Clinic/Hospital, St. Luke Hospital in Marion and Newton Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas, where he also completed his general surgery residence. After graduation, he became a major in the U.S. Air Force and practiced general surgery for two years. Dr. Cranston, who is board-certified in general surgery, was one of the first physicians on the Newton Medical Center medical staff to become certified to perform robotic surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Paul F. Bogner, MD
Board Certified in General Surgery and Robotic Surgery
Dr. Bogner joins Newton Medical Center from Axtell Clinic, where he has practiced since 1987. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1977 and conducted his residency in general surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of General Surgeons. Dr. Bogner is board-certified in general surgery and is among the few general surgeons to utilize the da Vinci robot. He has served as the medical director of the Newton Fire/EMS since 1987.
John F. McConeghey, MD
Board Eligible in General Surgery
A 2007 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. McConeghey completed his general surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita this summer. Prior to that, he received his bachelor’s in electrical engineering with an emphasis in bioengineering from Kansas State University. He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Burn Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. McConeghey is board-eligible in general surgery and is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
