Eye surgeon joins Newton Medical Center medical staff

Newton Medical Center welcomes Kevin Paul Allen, M.D., ophthalmologist (eye - specialist) to its active medical staff. Dr. Allen provides a variety of diagnostic and surgical procedures related to eye disease. He is the first eye surgeon based in Newton in the more than a decade.
Allen earned his M.D. from Columbia University in New York and is board-certified in ophthalmology.

He has most recently been in private practice in Elizabeth City, N.C., and admitted his patients to the Regional Medical Center of Kitty Hawk and Albemarle Hospital.

A former Barnard College biological science instructor, Allen is active in community service organizations and has hosted a local television program about eye health. He is married to Susan Lovelle-Allen, M.D., who also recently joined the Newton Medical Center medical staff.
